#38PercentCounts—In the United States, Black women on average are paid 38% less than white men, and 21% less than white women. August 7 is Black Women Equal Pay Day, which means Black women had to work all of 2017 and until this day in 2018 to catch up with what men earned last year. In this video, LeanIn.Org asked real women about the impact of the pay gap and why closing it matters for Black women, families, and communities.
