Some 20 babies who survived the deadly attack on a Kabul maternity hospital on Tuesday were moved to other hospitals such as the Ataturk Children’s Hospital in the Afghan capital, as seen in footage from Wednesday.

Of the 20 babies, 19 were moved to Ataturk Children’s Hospital, while one baby with a broken bone was moved to another medical facility, according to a doctor at Ataturk hospital.

“Among the 19 infants, at least six babies’ families are available and the rest of the families have disappeared. Newborn babies are still receiving all the medical care, they are feeling good right now,” he added.

New mothers were called in to feed the babies whose families are missing.

“When I arrived at the hospital, there were six babies which were hungry and thirsty,” said Shukria, one of the mothers. “I have fed them all and it makes me so happy, during the feeding I could feel them as like as my own kids.”

At least 40 people were killed in two attacks on a maternity clinic run by Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) and a funeral on Tuesday. The attack on the maternity clinic killed at least 16, including two newborn babies.
