After Senate Republicans blocked a measure this week to close the wage gap — she called on women to — “Put on your lipstick, square your shoulders, suit up and let’s fight for this new American Revolution where women get equal pay for equal work. ”
At 75, she is the longest serving woman in the Senate… And earlier this year became the longest serving woman in the entire U.S. Congress.
She’s a social worker turned community activist turned elected official — who’s been battling for women’s health, women’s research, women’s rights her entire career.
She’s now Dean of the Women in the Senate, mentoring younger women who follow in her footsteps.
